love show

It’s been a bit of a long haul but I want to keep up with my Sunday posting. Now that one intense project has completed, and another to finish next week, I’ll once again have some time and energy to refocus on this site and its offerings.  More new stuff and specials are coming. Thanks so much for checking in. Have a beautiful week and remember that life is short, so make it sweet.
Stand still. Breath in. Let your love show.

The beautiful voice of the beautifully named, altogether adorable Skye. If you wanna shop while listening click here.

Skye sang of the sea while with Morcheeba. A piece of my soul also resides Down By the Sea,
and there it shall remain. Click here to read about it while listening to it.

Copper Clappers

Some classic comedy from the Carson collection on the 82nd celebration of his birth… Happy Birthday to the unforgettable and irreplaceable King of late night comedy. For more from the Carson cache, consider clicking forthwith.

If life was fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead” Johnny Carson

There’s so much historic humor but I’ve opted to post more of a moment in history. Johnny’s last television appearance. It’s quite brief, but quite special and oh so Johnny, and the crowd went wild. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, heeeeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!

all my friends

Somewhat redundant musically, but that got me thinking - don’t many relationships become so at times? I guess the key is appreciation and keeping it genuine, warm and understanding. To all my friends, then and now - if I could see you all tonight…

Two interepretations of the same song; which is your preference? and does a relatively minor alteration allow us enough stimulation to bear with the inevitable redundance? Can steady be modified enough to keep it interesting but not so much that it turns foreign, unrecognizable? Perhaps if we allow, more comfort may be found in the constant, and more inspiration in the variations.

As always, do feel free to do something else while tapping your toes, and do enjoy, my friends…

national nightmare

I admit it, I pilfered this little link from the The The site. Have I mentioned that I’m a huge Matt Johnson fan? And would I not be doing my job as a blogger (okay, in training - wannabe, if you will) if I didn’t turn you all on to these little gems? I only wish I had more time to find them… enjoy, and have a great night - the end of this administration is in sight!

National Nightmare

The official home of the George Bush Countdown Clock Keychain.

Countdown the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the National Nightmare of George W. Bush’s reign is over. As bad as it gets with war, deficits, injustice and just downright international embarrassment, at least the end is in sight!

Thanks, Matt!

there is a light

Nice cover of a Smith’s song but no surprise; it’s sung by Neil Finn with the song’s co-writer Johnny Marr on the guitar (he wrote the song with Morrissey).  Marr has been referred to as a virtuoso guitarist, keyboardist and harmonica player, and has worked with some favorite artists including Finn, Beth Orton and Matt Johnson. That said, I thought I’d revisit some more of Marr and his mates. Enjoy. And by the way, there IS a light - there has to be.  A happy, happy Friday to you.

good souls

A good song to start the week with, by Starsailor.
Peace, and may there be loads of good souls in your life to thank goodness for.
Don’t forget to shop for them.

Not the best video/sound, but another favorite by the band. Love is Here, so do have a beautiful week.
