to build a home

A storm in Southern California, even a ‘bad’ one, rarely packs the punch that a storm anywhere else does, its just that we don’t get them all that often and so we’re not all that used to it. Roads have oil built up on them and become super slick, and the dried up coastline easily erodes under the force and weight of the water. Anyway, I was driving around downtown in the rain and there they were, the homeless of America’s self-proclaimed “Finest City”, many of them (and its a sad fact that over 1200 of the homeless in San Diego alone are veterans*) on the soaked sidewalks, streets and in the doorways, with their complete collection of possessions in a shopping cart, sheltered only with a wet blanket. Wish I could build them all a home. I’m so grateful for my warm and cozy shelter from the storm. We should all have that.

Here’s a beautiful performance of a beautiful song by Cinematic Orchestra. Wishing you a safe, warm and peaceful week, and shelter from the storm should you need it. Click here to meander…
